miniZ v1.2m is out!
Hi everyone, thank you for your support and feedback! All your feedback really matters. miniZ is growing better in each version.
There is a miniZ version v1.2m for you to download.
In brief:
- Speed improvements for 144,5 and 192,7. Major boost for RTX GPUs.
- Fee shares excluded from statistics.
--show-pers
to show personalization string.--smart-pers
to use personalization string ‘auto’ if available, otherwise use specified pers. For compatibility with Mining Rig Rentals.--show-solratio
to show number of solutions per iteration.--oc1/--oc2
for boost in performance when applying OCs to GPUs.- Help with new look. Run miniZ.exe
--nocolor
--help
to exclude colors (Win7). - Improved stability.
- Other bug fixes.
On Download page you can find Cuda 10 and Cuda 8 versions (Linux and Windows).
If you have RTX GPUs then you need to use Cuda 10.0 versions. However, for other GPUs performance may depend on the driver you have installed. So, you need to test and see which performs best.

Hi Andrey,
Thanks for reporting all these speeds!
It looks that for your OC setting you will need to use
--oc1
or--oc2
.On your card the last version 1.2m should perform better than the v1.2l.
Let us know if it helped.
Cheers
I use –f11 = 1. I do overclocking via MSI Afterburner. if you use –oc1 or –oc2, do you need to disable MSI Afterburner?
In MSI Afterburner, I use a down-volt curve (clk 1873MHz 843 mV, mclk 5499MHz, 170W). It turns out 0.42-0.43 sol / W
Hi Andrey,
you can use
--oc1
or--oc2
with Afterburner. This is just to tune the algorithm, it does not do any OC.For you card and miniZ v1.2m,
--f11=1
does the same as--oc2
.You may try, for your OC values
--mode=0
. Let us know if it changed anything. You can also check some tests we did here https://miniz.ch/1445-2/, with other OC settings.
Thanks!
Cheers

Hi Andrey,
Thanks! Great analysis.
The stock settings are our reference to compare different versions. Then we also try a few different OC settings to check other parameters. But the stock is always the reference since there are many different combinations of OC, power,… that can be done.
You did not try
--mode=0,
did you?--mode=0
should be similar to v1.2l.Feel free to try other values with
--mode
. You can try: 0,1,2,3,6,7, or 8. It will be interesting to know if any of these gives better performance.Another suggestion, since the Sol/s take long time to converge (20 min might not be enough) it is more accurate to compare the I/s that converge faster. Sol/s ~ 2xI/s.
Cheers

Hi Andrey,
Thanks a lot for all these tests, they are very useful.
As we expected
--mode=0
was best. Maybe--mode=7
can be similar, but we do not expect it to be as good.Looking at your outputs,
--mode=0
gave I/s=36.55, which means that the sol/s will converge to 73.1, similar to v1.2l.Yet, if you change your OC settings the best mode may be different (likely
mode=1
). Also, for your card 3,4,5,6, are likely not useful.--mode
is not documented because it is an experimental setting.Cheers
Why do % downloads GPU change color?
https://pastenow.ru/cb615f3b1a2e261487e3feb90bc468ea
Hi Andrey,
the value that is changing in color is the percentage of accepted shares. The color depends on tat value.
You had a rejected share (red star) that is why it changed.
It is normal to get a few rejected shares. After mining several hours the percentage of accepted shares should be bigger than 99%.
In the screenshot you show, the ~10 min statistics is clearly not enough to say that something is not OK.
For you to know:
>=99.2 Green
97-99.2 Yellow/Orange(might depend on your console)
95-97 Dark Red
<95 Bright Red
We will update our Usage page, good that you mentioned this.
Thanks!
Cheers
Hi,
I have an out of memory with mine 1070 with Stock Settings on Linux.
Are those GPU supported?
Hi Clement,
yes, the 1070 are well supported.
Are you running some other program on that GPU?
Can you paste here the exact message that miniZ writes on the console?
Could you also paste here the result of running
./miniZ -ci
?Thanks!
Cheers
Hi miniZ,
What type of driver NVIDIA download is better to use for mining: CRD or GRD?
Hi Andrey,
We have been working with GRD drivers.
We do not expect the CRD to be much better, we may be proven wrong 🙂
Cheers
